Nine years ago I was looking for a business networking group to help support and grow my business. Giving referrals can sometimes be risky if we don't have a strong relationship with the business/person that we recommend to our clients and friends. I joined Business Builders By The Bay to develop those relationships and be certain that my friends and clients would be given the same exceptional service that I provide. It has been a win-win for me. I give and receive referrals weekly and my business has grown, The relationships I have cultivated with the other professionals in this group I consider to be priceless!

I have been a part of the group for roughly 4 years and in that time I have gained a lot.

Not only have I gained increased business but also I have also built quality relationships with my fellow group members.

From a revenue aspect it more than pays for itself year over year. All it takes is one job from someone else in the group and it is like dropping a pebble in a lake, the ripples keep going.

You build a lot of trust with those in the group. Honestly, when you tell someone: “Hey you ought to talk to …” You’re sticking your neck out for that person. The same way they will be sticking their neck out when they tell someone they ought to talk to you.

 

It is a great way to build your business in a very old-school, organic way, through person to person referrals from trusted referral sources. You build a strong reputation within the group and as members go about their daily interactions they carry you at the top of their list.

 

It is efficient and cost-effective advertising. Every week you reach not only your fellow group members but also any number of people that they connect with. The possibilities are exponential.

It is the type of marketing that I prefer to do. It has heart, it has soul. You are dealing directly with other people and the quality of the human element is something that can’t be beat.

I have been part of this group for over 7 years. Working by myself and owning a small business I knew I needed to network and wanted to spend my time wisely. I enjoy the structure of the group and the relationships we create. My clients have always come to me for referrals and I can confidently refer them to members in the group. I also had a fear of speaking in public and being a member of the group gave me an opportunity to get over that.
